What is a Golden Doodle
|
 |
The Goldendoodle is a first hybrid crossing between a Golden Retriever and a Standard Poodle. This hybrid was first created in Australia. This hybrid has only been in the United States since 1997. The entire reason for this creation was to provide those who were physically challenged a service dog that had extremely low shedding, otherwise referred to as hypo-allergenic. Such a canine was needed for those who needed an assistant dog but had allergies that prevented them from being able to own one.
Overall, the Goldendoodle is very adorable, cute playful and silly. Because this wonderful hybrid is the best mix anyone could have ever asked for, their populatiry continues to increase exponentially! You can learn more about these wonderfully well spirited hybrids by clicking here.

Thank you for visiting iGoldenDoodle.com - The Exclusive Golden Doodle Portal
IGOLDENDOODLE.COM is the destination portal for all things related to Goldendoodles! We are doodle owner and Universal Kennel Club recommended doodle breeders. Our Golden Doodle Portal advertises on numerous Doodle Breeder's lists across the net, many doodle hybrid and other canine resources. The Golden Doodle gets its name from its mixed heritage ... golden retriever and poodle. The Poodle can be of any size. Goldendoodles are a hybrid dog, a first generation cross, and as such they can exhibit hybrid vigour. Hybrid vigor, however has not been scientifically proven and is thus the personal opinon shared by many Golden Doodle and Poodle hybrid breeders. The hybrid cross between these two parent breeds (Golden Retrievers and Poodles, combined into Golden Doodles), are very family oriented dogs, friendly, intelligent, loving, cuddly and very affectionate. The Goldendoodle is easy to train. You will find our Lake Ridge Goldendoodle site the largest, most comprehensive and extensive doodle site on the net. Our DOODLE PLANET provides information regarding the shedding, coat phases of a GoldenDoodle. The Goldendoodle is a low shedding dog and does work out well for many who have allergies. The golden doodle, however, is NOT a hypo-allergenic dog regardless of how many people desire to believe this. GOLDENDOODLES come in all sizes and colors. There are no 'rare' markings for a GoldenDoodle. A doodle dog's coat is generally very thick, shaggy and wavey as an adult. Sometimes the Goldendoodle can have more of a flat or curly coat. One characteristic of the Goldedoodle dog is that its tail rides high above the back and does curl over. The coat of a Goldendoodle goes through many changes their first year of life and their coat will shed the most during this coat phase. Some doodles sport long ears and some doodles sport ears that are short but flip over at the tips. Despite the fact many breeders claim they breed Miniature Goldendoodles, the Kennel standard for a Miniature sized dog is NOT to stand over 15 inches in height from the highest point of the shoulders and they should not weigh over 25 pounds as an adult. Kennel Standards do apply to ALL MINIATURE SIZED DOGS REGARDLESS OF BREED. Any dog weighing over twenty five pounds as an adult is not considered to be a Miniature sized dog. The size of the Poodle does not define the size of goldendoodle offspring. The Goldendoodle's entire lineage plays 100% in the genetic make up of a Goldendoodle.
